This is my grandmother from back when she was 14 years old. It's striking to me that even though we say things like "girls today sure look older than they did when I was in (junior) high school," it's clearly crazy talk. She looks a lot older than 14 to me. Maybe it's just the picture. Maybe not.
Anyway, this is a retouching job that I did for my grandfather. He had this picture in his wallet for 64 YEARS! Yes, you read that correctly. He carried this picture with him since the time that they met during WWII. That's almost impossible to comprehend in today's digital, disposable world. Simply mind-boggling and incredibly romantic.
She passed away a couple of weeks ago. I miss her already.
